The Barbarian King is a 20-page wilderness and dungeon adventure module for 4th to 6th level characters. Set amid the shattered remnants of a once-mighty barbarian empire, this scenario plunges adventurers into a brooding, haunted landscape of cryptic ruins, forgotten tombs, and deathless spirits.

The module challenges players to confront the buried legacy of the mountain barbarians — to explore their crumbling strongholds, bargain with malevolent powers, and survive the shadowy hosts and cunning traps left behind by a fallen people. But deeper still lies the slumbering evil of the Barbarian King himself… waiting.

Originally released in 2002 as a standalone mini-module, this edition has been re-edited for modern usability and includes evocative new illustrations by Matthew Ray, Stefan Poag, and Denis McCarthy.
